Abstract

Social media has created new opportunities for young people to participate in political and social movements. Through online platforms, individuals can organize campaigns, share information, mobilize supporters, and express their views on issues affecting society. This study analyzes the influence of social media on online political activism among young people. The research focuses on the ways in which digital communication contributes to political expression, collective action, and civic participation. The study finds that social media reduces barriers to participation by providing accessible and interactive spaces for political engagement. Young people can participate through activities such as sharing political content, signing online petitions, joining campaigns, and engaging in public discussions. However, concerns remain regarding the effectiveness of online activism, misinformation, and the gap between digital expression and offline political action. The study concludes that social media has expanded the forms and possibilities of youth
